My landlord pulled my Experian and asked about a paid judgment from 2007 (which I am trying to get vacated for a # of reasons). Their main concern was that is showed $400 (the amount I paid), while in their whole history of viewing credit reports only unpaid judgments listed amount, paid ones simply said Paid Judgment.
Is this so and if so is this a valid argument for removal?
Does it show paid/satisfied?
I've not ever came across anything saying the original amount couldn't be displayed once it was paid.
It is public information, so I assume that they can report what they want about the judgment as long as it is accurate.
I don't think "because your landlord said it looks odd" is a valid reason.
While I don't have any paid/unpaid judgments, both of my paid collections show the amounts. I just can't see that as a reason to dispute.
I did just that and was approved. Interestingly enough, the only doc i had from the courts was the fwd'd one from the CA showing the case # and the fact paid in full. Never was served, nor notified of judgment until I called into CA to pay balance in full, took the CC info then said 'ok I"ll mark the judgment paid in full' (!). Trying to get it vacated. And no, I didn' think 'landlord thinks looks weird' was valid; I thought her point was that judgments show $0 balance in her experience. Mine does not and as I do more research it seems to be how they should be reported.

I bet if you were to present to your landlord info showing that you had paid it, then they would probably be satisfied with that.
