Re: Shouldn't paid off mortgages stay on credit report longer than 10 years?

Woke up this morning to an alert.  My score dropped another 5 points on (this time) Equifax.  My closed acct.  paid off dated 11/2012 (car loan) just fell off. edit to add:  I think Equifax site is vantage score and not fico...my fico did not change. hopeful

EQ uses their own internal score, neither FICO or Vantage.

Oldman.....no wonder I'm scratching my head at all of these scores from all over the place.  I know enough to be dangerous; particularly to myself.  I gotta give it a rest.   Thanks!!!!!

No problem, for your future reference, EX-FICO8, TU-Vantage (matches TU on CK) and EQ-EQ internal score (with option to pay for FICO separately).

Oldman, thanks for providing these score definitions. I was stressing about a score I do not understand nor am I interested in on the EQ site. As of Dec 14 to yesterday, my fico 8 EQ score has increased 26 points! I'll take it Smiley Happy I have canceled my EQ membership....don't see any benefit in what they have to offer.

No problem. Sign up for EQ's free "Lock and Alert", access to EQ credit lock which you had with the old subscription (probably came with EQ and TU credit lock), then sign up for free TU TrueIdentity for TU credit lock. Take control of your profile.
