@Anonymous wrote:I have 3 baddies on my reports. The first I wrote about on here earlier. It's a $51 collection acct from Sprint.
2nd is a 9K charge off from BOA from my divorce 3 years ago. The acct was in my ex-husbands name but reported on my report as I was an authorized user. BOA won't discuss the acct with me so I'm at a loss at how to deal with it.
3rd is one 30 day late 2 years ago on my now paid off vehicle.
Not good at all but I've hit a wall with them.
Unless this is a joint account, you should be able to get that removed by disputing via the 3 CB's.
An AU has no obligation to pay the bill so it shouldn't be held against you on your CR once it's charges off.
I would most definitely file disputes on that. It surely can't hurt.
Sprint should be easy enough. Have them recall the debt & offer to pay for delete. If they can't/wont recall it, try to work out a PFD with the CA.
Good Luck
I would not worry about the $51 collection from Sprint. The FICO 8 family ignores all collections under $99 -- and that's true even if it is an unpaid collection. The FICO 9 family ignores all paid collections regardless of size. Almost certain you can find an auto lender or CC issuer that uses FICO 8 or later.
My own advice is to pay one card to zero and the other to a small balance, like $15. Then wait for both cards to report to all three bureaus. A good tool to track that is Credit Karma. When both EQ and TU at Karma show that your new balances have reported, give it another three days just in case Experian is running a bit slower.
Then pull your three FICO 8 scores. We can suggest a way to do that at almost no cost.

Agreed except; on the Rebuilding Board she posted the Sprint debt is now held by Diversified and is over $200.
If that's on the report, it will hurt..
Exactly correct. Diversified has the debt and is now reporting the enhanced amount. I proved I didn't owe anything to EQ and TU who've removed, somehow EF claims they validated the debt.
Before anyone asks, I did contact Sprint attempting to pay the original $51, figuring that was cheaper than what the negative is costing me. They can't find an account I owe anything on but have been less than helpful (being chartable) when it comes to removing the acct from Diversified.

Thanks for the reply. My plan is to pay Fingerhut off then drawer it only to use if need be to keep the acct open and pay down CO to under 8% (Roughly $40) and make sure I'm always there a few days before a new statement.

Correct, I am carrying balanced in both accts. I've charged nothing in months on Fingerhut so no worries about posting them off. Nothing had gone on Cap1 in almost 2 weeks so my current balance reflects all charges.
Except for residual interest, interest accrued on the current balance this cycle which will not post until next statement even if you were to PIF on both cards today, you will have to pay off the residual interest as soon the new statements are cut, then you have to wait another cycle (without using the cards) for the next statements to post $0.
