I recently closed several Comenity store cards that I had picked up years ago via SCT and promptly never used except to force myself to buy something with them every few months to maintain activity.
When MyFico reported the closures, I noticed that rather than saying "Closed at consumer request" or something similar under Status, they report as "Paid Loan" This is for HSN, Express and Gander Mountain. Walmart (Synchrony) I noticed reported as "Paid Loan" on Exerian, but "Closed at consumers request" on Equifax.
They were all closed in good standing, so I'm not worried about it messing with my scores, but I was curious if there was really any difference when they were open? Would some computer algorithm actuall have viewed them as loans rather than revolving credit?

Do you have any old credit reports -- from before the store cards were closed?
Every account on your report should have an account "type" associated with it. I am curious what the account type is of these store cards, as listed on your old reports. This is different from the "comments" field that describes why an account may have been closed.
Curious also how the account type reads for the closed card on your recent reports.

Looking at my last 3B report from MyFico, all the Comenity store cards are listed as "Charge accounts" on all three CRAs. This doesn't reflect any of the cards since I closed them, but switching over to CreditKarma, the closed cards that have been reported as such are still listed as closed Charge accounts on TU and EX.

Members have reported in the past that the account type when shown by credit monitoring software can be different than the "real" account type on your actual hard copy credit report. You could request your hard copy reports to check for sure, or call each bureau and ask them what the account type is for the accounts in question.
