I'm so frustrated. I finally had all 3 scores at a number for financing my own home (649/639/638) I reported to capital one that two of my credit cards were stolen so immediately they issued 2 new cards and said NOTHING would effect my credit. Lies. I'm now getting messages on myfico that I have no history on my credit accounts and my scores plummeted to (640/629/625) I'm so upset. I immediately made small purchases on them and 34 days later capital one hasn't updated to the credit bureau and my scores are still down. I've called Experian, Equifax and Capital one but nothing can be done. They all say it shouldn't have effected my score with them just opening two new numbers and closing out the stolen cc numbers.... any advice?? I've been working on my score for 19 months now and felt so close and now feel defeated like IT's never going to happen :/
Welcome to the forums!
What usually happens in my and other's experience is there's a period where the old tradeline which is marked as lost/stolen is on the report though it will be deleted at some point, and a new tradeline with the old history is added. The lost/stolen might whack it from calculation much like a dispute, don't know on that one.
It sounds like what may have happened is your old tradeline got whacked or is no longer being counted, and the new one isn't on the reports yet. Have you seen what's on the report currently either from annualcreditreports or from one of the third party sites like the now laudable Credit Karma?

+1. When I lost recently lost a cc, It was closed and a replacement card issued. My old and new accounts showed up on thr crb reports for a couple of months. After that, the old account was gone and dthe past history was still showing under my new account along with the original open date, credit limits, etc. There may have been a small point drop as my AAOA temporarily decreased, but it recovered a month or two after the accounts merged.
