Re: Study: AAoA and max FICO score (Forum Survey)

Okay, real quickly as I do not have all the needed data you need, but I am still a partial data point I suppose.

I have a "dirty" file but still over 700 scores.

I have a paid tax lien that is two years old, coming up on three I believe.

I also have a late paymet of 120 days showing up that is slightly over three years old.  May a month or two over three years.

AOAA is low, I would assume under three years and maybe under two as I have got 6 new cards in the last year.  I will try to get more data to help this out more, but my scores are TU 723 and EQ 726 as shown by real CC provided FICO 08 scores.  Still a good data point of a dirty file having scores over 700 at least.  I will try to get all the needed data to help out more but thought the info I had might help some at least.

The purpose of the survey isn't to explore a comprehensive look at credit scores.  However, I would love to see a site (or bulid one) similar to the credit boards approval database that allows people to log their credit reports and scores!

I'll tell you what I would love.  And that is for some big company to release a huge de-identified dataset of credit score data.  I am thinking of a company like (for example) Sprint or Comcast or a big utility like Georgia Power -- a company that regularly pulls credit reports and scores on all its customers (who come from many walks of life and are not themselves trying to apply for credit cards or loans when their credit score was pulled).

I am thinking of something like:

     Score

     Score model

CRA from which the data was pulled

     Date of pull

     Dirty or clean?

     AAoA

     Age of Oldest Account

Age of of Youngest Revolving Account

(Will use the word "card" as shorthand for "revolving account" below)

    Total number of accounts

     # of cards opened in:

          Last 6 months

          Last 12 months

          Last 24 months

     Total number of open cards

     Total CC utilization

Number of cards showing per card utilization of

           > 90%

           > 80%

           > 70%

Number of cards showing a balance

     Total CC debt (dollar number)

     Total CL

     Average CL

Any closed installment loans? (With a good payment history)

Any open installment loans? (With a good payment history)  If so,

         total installment utilization

total installment utilization (non-mortgage loans only)

total installment utilization (mortgage loans only)

     # of Inquries (< 366 days old)

An enormous amount could be learned if they were to do that.  (Imagine a dataset of 10k records like that, or 100k!)  I am not holding my breath, however.  If anyone knows whether anything like this has ever happened, let me know.  I'll be your friend for life.

If I got a hold of a file like that I'd quit my job and start a blog with 100% of my time devoted to unpacking it!

i'm the one who had 748 score, I have 13 accounts (11 cc's , 1 AU CC and 1 Auto loan). When i had 748 score 6 accounts are reporting balance (2% util) and none of them > 10% of the CL and the auto loan is at 96% Util. I believe the auto loan util is what holding my scores. I never had a derog in my credit file. Btw the score is Discover TU-08, which is my highest score and my EX-08 is 730 and EQ-08 is 731 as per chase and citi respectively.

Thanks! I'll add those notes to your record.

Awesome.  Once you have all the data I'd love to add you to the survey. Will be good to have a dirty data point over 700!

Re: Study: AAoA and max FICO score Survey

Let's see:

AAoA: 1 year, 10 months

Oldest account: 2 years 11 months

Newest account: 9 months

No derog

Hard inquiries: 2

Utilization: 3%

Score: 782

We're truncating AAoA, right?

In 3 weeks, the max for 2 years may change. Hoping for an 800 there.
