@Anonymous wrote:So I was divoced last year and I was an AU on her Dillards account. She removed me last year however all 3 bureaus are still reporting me as an AU, I have disputed it 3 times to no avail. Yesterday I wrote a letter stating the divorce and attached a copy of my divorce decree and stated at this point the account is a fraudent account if not removed. The bad thing is that I called Dillards and I am not even in there system and was removed over a year ago. The reason I want to be removed is that she has maxed the card out and has dropped my scores ALL 3 from the low 800's to high 700's/.. I hope this works as I am running out of options to have this AU account removed. Thanks
HI AMXBlack,
I am a little confused by your post. You indicated that you were removed as AU from her Dillard's account. Are you saying additional information is being reported on each of your credit reports and this is the reason your scores are hurting?
You also indicated that you contacted Dillard's and they said they do not see you in the system as an AU, correct? If so, then I cannot see how information is still being updated with credit usage, etc on these accounts.
Are you certain that new information is being reported? If new information is not being reported, then this leads me to believe that something else is happening which is pulling down your scores.
Just like any other credit line, when the account is "closed" it is often still being reported and this helps your average age of accounts (AAoA). So to see it on the report, but not being reported (unless there was high utilization or something at the time), it should not be *hurting* your scores on ordinary circumstances.

Hi FICOdeMio,
I don't know how the closed AU work, but reading what you wrote I want to put an example:
- card age above AAoA
- card balance 95%
- AU report as closed
The balance reported when the AU stopped updating because it was removed from the account (let's say Dillard's), will hurt until the account is removed? I mean, even if the balance go to $0 that information will not get reported on AU's reports because the lender will no longer update the information?

Hello newphis,
Yes in your example, that would indeed be correct.
What was that you were saying AMXBlack with your last post? For some reason, I do not see any text.
