Sudden Drop in Equifax Score after paying charge card

Hi Everyone,

On the 27th of October, my Equifax FICO 8 score was 765.  Three days later ( October 30th) the score dropped 11 points.  The only change was a decrease in my American Express Platinum balance from $1054 to $17. That's it, I looked at everything with a tomb comb, and nothing else changed.

What's interesting is that my Vantage score also took a significant hit of 30 points in the same time frame.

Has anyone seen the same results after paying down a " Charge Card"?  I am well versed in the credit space but have not seen anything like this before.  By the way, this only occurred with Equifax; the other two bureaus remained the same.

I appreciate your thoughts.

Charge cards don't have a credit limit so they are not factored into your utilization. And Vantage is nothing to worry about really. Its something else that occurred. 11 points isn't much to fret about. You can try free credit reports and look at EQ. Maybe you might find it there. Welcome to the forums!
