Why is t.u. constantly saying very good when I am never above 7% util and I am mostly at 1 to 3% util? I even lost points a month ago for going to 0%.What do I have to do to be great in their eyes. This is insane.( btw my wife is 8% util. and I am 1%util same" very good "indication)
I wouldn't worry about the descriptions... they have no real meaning.
Dropping to 0% util will usually result in a decrease in score because you are not showing you use your credit available at all. You are in the sweet spot, of 9% or less, 1-3% obviously being a little better... but the point difference between 1% and 9% is going to be very small usually (2-4 points maybe?)
Sounds like you are doing fine.
To add, the "Amount of Debt" section includes all debt, not just revolving util. It looks at your overall amount of revolving debt, your installment util, your overall installment debt, and probably dives into the particulars. For example, it'll look at the individual util on each card, how many CCs report a balance, how many TLs overall report a balance, and so on.
Thanks cdtotten for the reply, its just silly of me I guess. When I look at my eq. and it is "GREAT" then t.u. is "VERY GOOD" it makes the nerves get a little rattled.
Thanks llecs, I only have one cc reporting a bal. and no other debt except a mortgage loan with Chase bank. My util. is 1% as of the last several mos. except dipping to 0% at one point.
You are in a great position because you can control the reproted CC balance that is reported and if you PIF, you are also AA proof as well. You may find that TU wants no CC balance being reported and EQ does or possible the other way around. I have a mortage and autoloan and TU dings me for any CC balance reporting while EQ dings me if I don't.
Thanks marty56 for the reply, I think thats what is happening to me, one says yes and the other says no. I do know that t.u. will ding me me for going to 0% util. because they got me last mo.
