I’ve always wondered where that line was myself and I suppose it can vary by algorithm but another thought I had is it could also vary by scorecard or aggregate credit limit. Just a thought.
Maybe, but I think all of us are seeing it on the pretty scorecard on the various algorithms (well top 8 anyway) and would think that would be less of a risk than someone in a derogatory one.
The majority of my spend, unreimbursed travel expenses, is going on my CIP these days but assuming it counts for all scorecards probably on the negative ones there's enough going on that we just don't see it.
I do wonder if that's possibly a reason code for individual revolving utilization though and as such it might not be a flat number, I'd certainly be interested to see testing by the same individual on varying sized tradelines on the same scorecard.
Experian is probably the only file I'm clean enough to see it on, if that reason code is seen there I'm happy to try to swing my spend over to something that reports but I don't think I saw it before running up the HELOC; also I will admit I only got good (Experian) monitoring in November, by that time I think most of my balances were consolidated on the HELOC and I was already aggressively paying it down... I looked at my CSR statements and I haven't broken 1100 since then, which, hrm.
I have a tax payment that is coming up 7/15 that I'll drop on my FU and let it report, that'll be 5k+ on a 25k line, will see if it comes up on any score (2/3, pretty sure it won't on 8); not sure it will though I might not be clean enough for all that I'm sitting north of 770 on all 3 classic scores currently. Well EX FICO 3 is at 767... too many new accounts and inquiries. ![]()
