how come TU inquiries seems to stay on the report for about a year??? I applied for apple financing last year 12-08-2011 and today the inquiry was removed from my TU report? I noticed this a few months as well when a few of my inquiries past 12 months ..never stays longer than 14 months on my TU..any thoughts?

It's almost certainly still there unless TU made a mistake.
CK doesn't report all information, it's actually moderately sanitized in the sense that it only provides your open accounts. It's entirely possible that they don't report inquiries that are older than a year either... I have a few coming up this week in theory or by January at the latest over the 1 year boundary, I'll see what CK does with them but when I pull my reports either 12/30 or 1/1 (haven't decided which yet), I'm confident they'll still be there on TU or the myFico version as well.
