The Truth about Score Bands

Hi,
My score dropped 32 points in one day (Sept 26th on EQ report) and there was absolutely no change in the EQ CR before and after the score drop.  I downloaded both reports (before and after), did an Excel spreadsheet compare of balance, credit limit, date last reported, high balance, # of credit inquiries etc etc and they all net'd out to zero, meaning there was no change (which confirmed that I was not missing out on anything).  Then my score watch report comes in and this is what they had to say:

"You moved from one category of credit users to another as time passed. For example, you may have transitioned from the category "consumers with a new credit history" to the category "consumers with a two- to five-year credit history". As a result, your credit report is evaluated differently, causing a slight change in your score. The good news is that moving between categories like this usually offers you the potential to reach a higher FICO score in the future. "

The explanation of why my score is low is because I have a new history which mind you is as new as 11 years long. Wanted to share this and throw it out there to see if anyone else has had this happen to them and what were the immediate consequences ( aka did the scores jump back shortly, or does this mean I am going to have to claw my way up again)

Thanks
Paradise

Before and after scores will help us even more here.

Also your utilization.

Re: The Truth about Score Bands

Before Score EQ: 645
After Score EQ: 613

Before Util Rev Accts: 35%
Current Util Rev Accts: <1% ( but not updated in Sept for any of my accounts). So the 613 score is based off the "before" report.

Hope this helps

paradise, fused is being coy for some reason. If you haven't already seen it, go to this thread, page 2, response 17. Warning: I had to go make myself a pretty stiff drink part way through.

Re: The Truth about Score Bands

I will be quite interested in the results after the UTL reports.
I would love to see you get an 80 point jump.

Do you happen to know the age of:
Oldest acct and avg age of accounts?

Did any of your accounts roll over to another year opened?
