Time moves Slowly scores increases...

I have paid my cc balances to zero except on which is at 26% utl. I have found 3 errors on my EQ report which I will send for dispute tomorrow.

My question is how long does it take for disputed items to show on your report? Is it worth paying to have score calculated?

CC's

CL 650 bal 0 (Visa) statement date 10/15/09

CL 550 bal 0 (Visa) 10/12/09

CL 450 bal 118  (master card) 10/2/09

CL 375 bal 0 (walmart) 10/16/09

TU - 629

EQ - 582

EX - 577

If I bring my mid score to 600 I can get financed with Wells Fargo Bank who also is a part of my the state of Indiana Rehabilitation for Foreclosed homes program. Free money 20% up to 15,000 of after repairs appraisal for renovations

Disputed items show up on your report when the CRAs receive them.  Your new CC balances will report after your CC issuers report them.  Most cards report on the date of the statement but a few report on the last business day of the month.  You can search the forums to find out when your particular cards report.  I can't say for certain with Wells Fargo, but keep in mind that many banks will not give mortgages while you have items on your report that are in dispute.  How high was your utilization before you paid your cards off?  I would wait until the disputes were resolved before pulling a report.  Also, what are you disputing?  Disputing first with the CRAs isn't always the best course of action.  If you could post what you were disputing, leaving out personal information like SSN and account numbers, members of the forums could advise you of the best course of action.

Thanks for your reply.

I am disputing an open judgement that was paid off in 2006. I faxed them proof of settlement doc.

When was the judgment filed? Paid judgments continue to report until they fall off.

Yes. EQ will change their status to "Settled" either when they pick it up from the source or when your dispute is processed. I believe they have up to 30 days to process the dispute.

Unfortunately paying a judgment does not improve you FICO scores. Unpaid, full paid and settled judgment all score the same way.

That stinks... I've had the judgement paid since 2006. At any rate, I want it to report correctly as the mortgage company asked for proof that it was paid.

Its amazing how quick you can ruin your credit and how long it takes to repair it...Young adult immaturity becomes Muture adult responsiblity.
