So just for the record, the score drop had nothing to do with a "credit pull".
I pulled both credit reports on annual credit report. They both have the last payment date of June 2022, which is false. I do not have the exact payment date (will take some digging) but I do know I paid the in the winter/spring of 2021. What can I do with this information?
A "preapproval," I believe, is actually equivalent to a "soft pull," not a "hard pull," so there should be NO effect on your credit.
When was your "date of first deliquency" (DOFL)? Usually, the items will fall off after 7 or 7 1/2 years from the DOFL.
It's a bummer that paid collections affect your credit almost as much as unpaid collections.

I believe you meant to say once it updates after being paid is like an update to a newer date. Not that the balance went to $0. That wont change anything. Unless its a PFD of course.
