Trying to be a FICO High Achiever

Hey guys and gals,

Just pulled my EQ score today it was a 750...I want to make it to at least 760.  My current utilization is 5%, I have 6 accounts that will turn 1 year this year, do you think once they make their anniversary, I will get the jump needed.

Brief overview: length of credit history is 14 years, average age of accounts is 3 years, I have a mortgage and an auto loan, store card, and major credit cards.  I'll try paying my balance down to  1% utilization and see what that gives me.

Any and all insight will be greatly appreciated.

I would also check the number of CC's reporting a balance, you may get a boost if you reduce the number of CC's reporting a balance to say 1.

Re: Trying to be a FICO High Achiever

thanks Marty, I'll try that, I currently have 2 cc reporting, good thing I paid 1 of them off to zero today...once the updated balance reports, I'll see what that yields.

I know TU hates # of CCs reporting a balance.  LOL 2 CCs with a $25 balance each is worse than 1 CC with say $100 balance.

Have you tried EQ's FICO simulator? It seems to be in fairly accurate and you can see the effect of aging and util on your score.
