Two Collection Accounts deleted

I just received notices from the CEO of two collection agencies to delete my accounts. One was a medical bill for 348 placed on my account 11/08, the other was a ATT bill for 129 placed on my account 07/08. Question is how much of a boost am I likely to receive with these two accounts being removed?

Hey Charlene, congrats on the removal of those collections. The answer to your question depends upon how many other collections you have and how old they are.

I would have two remaining, one from 10/2008 for 331 and the other has a zero balance posted on 03/2005.

I wouldn't expect a great increase, but I have been wrong about this before. The collection from 10/08 is doing just about as much damage as the one from 3/09 was doing. Have you DV'd them? What is your states SOL? Are they medical collections by chance?

It will certainly help, but I only caution that deletion of a collection account does not delete the prior OC reporting of the delinquencies on their account that led up to the CA. They are totally separate reportings, and a CA has no authoity to delete any prior derogs in the prior OC postings.

So what derogs remain under the OC account?
