UTILIZATION

if my current utilization is 12% and it gets to under 5% will my score increase? or is it just nitpicking?

Yes it will increase. Probably not a whole lot unless that 12% is on a single card.

Honestly it may increase or it may stay the same. Since everybody's profile is different, there's no real way of knowing.

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Simulators are just that. Simulators. They can give you an idea, but by no means should you interpret it as that WILL happen to your scores. That said, if you have balances across multiple cards, it might benefit you to get all of those cards down to zero balances except for one. And on that one card have it report a 5% UTIL.
