Understanding average age of accounts

Does AAoA include non-revolving lines of credit? Or is it just the credit cards?

Does a closed credit card acount contribute to the AAoA until it falls off the report, or does it bring the AA down immediately upon closing the account?

7/17: EX 750, TU 741, EQ 716
AAoA = 12.7yrs (Exp), 13.6 years (TU/Eq)

It includes all tradelines, whether installment or revolving.

It contributes to the AAoA until it falls off the report.  Not only that, but even after it is closed it continues to age.  Thus, suppose you have two accounts, each opened on Feb 10, 2010.  One account is closed a week later.  The other remains open indefinitely.  On March 2019, both accounts will be treated as though they were 9 years old.

Bear in mind that Credit Karma's front-end summary page incorrectly calculates age-related factors by including only open accounts.  So Karma, for all its virtues, is a bad tool for assessing AAoA.
