Byrdman,

Is www.freeficoscore.com a FAKO?

Re: Using Maximum Credit Available

No, that was the promotion that myfico and EQ did back in January. It was a limited time thing and a limited in the number that they had offered.

Re: Using Maximum Credit Available

SW is a product offered via this site and is an EQ FICO score.

I'd suggest reading Credit Scoring 101 .

Re: Using Maximum Credit Available

I did read Credit Scoring 101 - really really I did.  (ok, not all of it, it's 20+ pages).  Smiley Surprised

I just got confused for a moment about which service provided real scores and which did not.

Just to make sure I understand now - let me repeat:

  • many myfico'ers use ScoreWatch to pull their multiple reports (but NOT to get their FICOs.  the #s provided by SW are FAKOs). Powered by TransUnion.

  • CCT provides the same type of service.  Powered by Experian (which means ByrdMan will not use it because they are being RIDICULOUS about not playing nice with others.)

OK, assuming the above is correct, next question:

Here's my question - a charge for 9.95 from Experian Credit Info appeared on my cc bill. Can I safely assume this is my monthly CCT charge?

a side note about difference btwn FICO and FAKO - I used www.freeficoscore.com (powered by Equifax)  and pulled up a 721 on Equifax. My FAKO from CCT is 749.

I'm about to pay down a cc from practically 100% util to <49%.  Very curious to see what that does for my score.

Incorrect.  Go to CS 101, go directly to CS 101, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Smiley Very Happy SW is powered by EQ and it is a true EQ FICO score.  It's used to monitor changes in the EQ report, not to pull multiple reports.

  • CCT provides the same type of service.  Powered by Experian (which means ByrdMan will not use it because they are being RIDICULOUS about not playing nice with others.) Correct, even though they don't play well with others and should go back to remedial kindergarten, I am having a hard time resisting the $9.95/mo and 3 bureau daily pulls.  TC is really bugging me.  CCT does offer a daily 3 bureau pull.

OK, assuming the above is correct, next question:

Hope this helps to clarify things.
