I get free credit scores from Walmart, Discover and Barclay's. Everything I read says these three use the exact same score: FICO 08 Classic. In reality, Walmart and Discover are always exactly the same, while Barclay's is always a 20-50 pt difference, usually higher. I check all three on the same day each month. So what exact FICO version does Barclay use?
It is TU08 based on everything I've read and been told (I'd call and ask but sadly it's very likely the agent would have no idea what I was referring to when I asked about versions) - you mention that you check them on the same day - that does not mean they were updated on the same day. I have both Discover and BarclayCard, checking my app now one was updated as of 4/25 with a 755 and the other as of 5/12 with a 761.
Putting aside when you checked - more importantly, when were they updated, respectively?
Barclays can go as long as two to three months between updates. Discover updates monthly, not sure about Walmart.
When you say you check all three on the same day each month, do each of them show the same date they were pulled? Each of them only pull once a month, though Barclays sometimes not necessarily, but they'll always show the date of the pull. If they aren't from the exact same date, that would account for a difference.
