What caused my increase?

I got an alert from Experian for a score increase and I can't figure out why exactly...

Who wants to try to solve this?

Maybe it's the dispute in my favor, but as you see from the last one, it's usually completed before the score boost.

Nothing of any significance otherwise hashhas so I'm not sure what to be looking for. Thoughts?

I'll be happy to give out any dps, HPs/Account ages, etc.

Re: What caused my increase?

It could be any number of things. More info about your profile would be needed to even try and guess.

Me, personally, I’ve seen point gains at that amount when

1) I’ve crossed an aggregate utilization threshold  ie going from 14% to just under 10%

2). I’ve had all cards below 10%

3). I’ve reached a milestone in my on time payment streak. Ie it’s been 5 yrs since 2 of my 90 day lates causing me to change scorecards or 2 yrs the other time

4) a threshold crossed in regards to AAoA has been crossed.

5) a negative fell off but some other negatives remain weighing the score down so that only 10 point gain seen

Im sure there are other causes that are only known to the Fico algorithm that we’ll never know

agg util has been around 2% since Oct.

2). I’ve had all cards below 10%

same

3). I’ve reached a milestone in my on time payment streak. Ie it’s been 5 yrs since 2 of my 90 day lates causing me to change scorecards or 2 yrs the other time

last late payment was 6yXm ago.

30/60/90/closed starting in Dec 2013. Only derog on Experian. The dispute in the picture was asking EE for that account.

4) a threshold crossed in regards to AAoA has been crossed.

according to EX app, AAoA is 1y5m.

Oldest account 1y.

Newest account 3m.

5) a negative fell off but some other negatives remain weighing the score down so that only 10 point gain seen

See 3). But the account and lates are still reflecting on the app. EX is otherwise clean.

Im sure there are other causes that are only known to the Fico algorithm that we’ll never know

Somewhat the motivation of the thread.

Thanks for anyone who chimes in, just not sure what it might be.

Re: What caused my increase?

Not really sure, but some on this forum think there may be a small bump from an account crossing 3 months. I'm not sure about that as I never saw anything for 3 months. The oldest crossing the year mark would be my guess or some other aging factor that caused you to get a gain.

Disputes cause accounts to be excluded from scoring while they are opened. This could be it too.

Re: What caused my increase?

i think when you file a dispute, they take that account/derog off your reports while they investigate

so when the dispute comes back, you may keep the points if it was valid - or lose those points if it is denied

Ahh interesting. Maybe!

I do notice in the alerts for the last dispute, there wasn't a point gain until it was over. Not to say it can't be that but interesting nonetheless.

Edit: then again it only took 15 hours for them to settle it so maybe it didn't have time to kick in.

Newest account at 3mo will do it, on some scorecards - probably all under 4yrs AoOA. I saw EX 8 +23pts the first time.

I just saw it again this month: EX 8 +11 this time. AoYA 3mo (AoOA 2yr5mo). [Link to previous AoYA 3 report is in here too.]

I've seen some sort of aging related points every 3mo with EX 8. I think once you get beyond 4yrs or so, a lot of what I have observed no longer happens.
