I understand that a Collection Agency reports date opened as the date they acquired the account and the DOFD stays the same for removal, but shouldn't myfico recognize the DOFD in regards to the actual age of the account?
I have an ATT collection, DOFD 9/12 for $122 that I paid in March.
My score Experian dropped seemingly for no reason on 3/30, myfico's reason was "recent derog or collection" and "length of time since collection agency filing" coinciding with the CA updating the acct as paid.
Also, Barclay denied me and their reason was "number of months since credit account in collections is to low".
Experian dates for this collection are 6/14 opened, 7/14 last reported, and in payment history it says this account went into collection 7/14, shows as paid collection.
So I guess my multiple questions are: why doesn't Myfico recognize the true date of delinquency? Should the payment history show the actual date the account went to collections? And doesn't Barclays have the DOFD information? Ugh. I just want this baddie to go away! Thanks, hopefully someone can shed some light on this since I have to live with it for 4 more years.
