No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Just a guess here...
Between -9 and -12 for the inquiries and the new accounts, worst case.
IMO.
It really depends on what your AAoA are now and will be after.
Have you run this through the FICO Estimator? (link in my sig line). Granted it only gives a range estimate, but it would give you something to work with and compare once you do get your updates after the inqs and accounts post to CR. That would also be useful info to post back for others
IMO
Based on my personal experience, I'd expect an initial ding of 5-10 points (give or take 1 or 2),
BUT, I'd expect a nice increase after the cards report (if you get healthy limits). Of course I was
carrying some balances and the new available credit greatly helped my utilization.
I wouldn't worry too much at all...
It will also depend on whether both cards hit the same report, or 2 separate. 1 hit on 2 different reports won't hurt as much as both on the same one.
Barlow, as txjohn suggested, you've definitely got to let us know what the change is when your CRs are updated with these new accounts.
(Maybe we can start a pool?)
Thanks, guys (and girls, if the case may be)! I actually have several other accounts, but none of them offer me anything in return. I'm carrying a $500 balance on a $1200 limit, everything else is empty (though I might have to buy a guitar so HSBC doesn't close my Musician's Friend card).
I'll definitely post back when I find out.
