So, i've recently begun trying to clean up my credit and I am having trouble figuring out what my real FICO score is? I signed up at all 3 CRA to try and get a handle on some of the items I was working on having removed ( I will post about those later) for now though here is what they are saying my scores are:
Experian: 730
Equifax: 625
Transunion: 677
Credit Karma: 660
I tried to get a score from here at MYFICO but they said that I didnt have enough recent credit history on file to calculate a score, so I signed up for 2 Capital One Cards; a Secured card with 200 initial limit which I added $250 to make my limit 450 and then I also signed up for a Capital One Platinum Unsecured Card- $500 Limit.
About how long before FICO can give me an actual score- and in the mean time, what is my closest FICO score based on what the 3 CRA's are reporting? Is there even any way to tell?
I'm not sure you can determine your FICO score based on the various FAKOs.
What I'd do is sit down and objectively identify the strengths and weaknesses of your report, independent of score.
For example, if you have derogatories, try to address them. If you have high utilization, try to pay it down.
All the different companies use completely different algorithms and use different credit bureaus. There are also different FICO scores as well, so even the FICO score you get from Discover isn't the same score that most lenders will see (lenders will look at industry specific scores such as bankcard enhanced).
