For starters, did everyone know that buying a vehicle from a dealership results in a HP, even when paying cash??? My DH needed a car and we purchased one yesterday from a local Chevy dealership and during all the paperwork we were informed that we would have to get a credit check for the sale??? What is this?? Anyhow, I got my TU score which was 689. How do I know which score this is? It says FICO but could it be an auto enhanced score? It is different from my Barclay score so I am curious if this is a more updated score

Sounds like a shady dealer to me because you didn't have to fill out any finance papers since you weren't financing the purchase.
Any yes it was probably an auto enhanced score. Do you have the paper with the score on it? If so it will tell you which CB's the score was based on.
Example this was based on EX EQ TU credit report and any questions Blah Blah contact said agency.
Congrats on the new car
Yes, they need to validate your idenitity for Homeland Security. My wife and I entered a dealership with financing in hand and they STILL did a credit pull.
Actually they do not need to pull your credit. There are other agencies they may use to verify identity.

Tell me again. Which agencies would that be?
chexsytems come to mind. no problem . if you open a checking account they wil lverify your identity in the same manner. without the hp on your credit report.
So that dealer sold you a bill of goods.

I should have done my research before the purchase! But they told me it was a state law or something like that after 9/11 they were required to check your credit.
I know my score was TU but was wondering if it was FICO vs auto enhanced or internal score.
If you have the paper and it says Fico followed by your score yes its a true Fico score....I think your getting thrown by the words (auto enhanced)
There are over 50 true Fico models and some are (auto enhanced Fico)
Just like there's a CC enhanced Fico
Different models for different applications as to the product your purchasing
EX EQ TU all have true auto enhanced Fico algorithms
