What you think???

I had a collection to be deleted from 2008.  I checked transunion.com and it was already deleted and the FAKO had went up 26 points.  I know SW doesn't monitor daily but weekly and I really don't want to hash the money for the TU report.   Do you think I will get a good score increase since this collection is removed?

Thanks

6/8/10 (LO pulled): TU: 704, EQ: 689, EX: 694

SW monitors EQ only. If something falls off TU then it doesn't always mean that it'll fall off EQ.

Re: What you think???

It was on both Equifax and TransUnion.

Thanks

Re: What you think???

I would never pay for a report unless I was absolutely positive it was off the report. Get a free Equifax report. If this was your only negative the score should go up otherwise maybe not.

Re: What you think???

I go back to your original post. and ask what you meant by "a collection to be deleted from 2008?"

Is 2008 the date of posting of the CA to your CR?

Before I would go into a lot of wrangling with the CRAs about when a CA must drop. I would first be certain of the DOFD on the OC account that resulted in the CA being posted.  That is the only date that matters to the CRAs,  They are then charged with removal, under FCRA 605(c),once 7 1/2 years has expired from that DOFD.  Projected fall off dates in your CR are often erroneous.

What is your DOFD?

Re: What you think???

Mel. my recommendation to anyone monitoring their credit reports is to first, foremost,. and always, get a full copy of your curremt CR, totallly free of charge, from the FCRA-mandated, non-commercial web site. annualcreditreport.com. You are entiled to a free report, through them, from each CRA data,. once a year.  You dont have to bite on the offer to also purchse a credit score from this site.  Just get your free CR and log out.

That is a free way to know your current CR.  If you are savvy on how credit reporting works. you should have a farily good idea, based on those baseline CRs, to determine the impact of future actions on your score, withou the need for constant commercial purchase of your score.

What subsequent monitoring tools you use are,or course, up to you, but I would start there.

Re: What you think???

Hi Robert,

I'm not sure what DOFD was since the accounts was deleted off the cr.  I got a 66 point score increase on TU (it wasn't on Equifax)Smiley Very Happy   TU was my middle or lowest score (who know what Ex is), but now it's 721 and Equifax is 690.  I really hope my scores are okay when I apply for a mortgage in a few months...  My utilization is a little high (35%), so my plan is to get that down under 9% and see what that does to my scores.

Thanks!!
