Which site...

Hello all.

I currently get my credit scores from Smartcredit. I pay $27.95 a month. I also use credit karma, wallethub and others.

Which one do yall recommend? I was thinking of signing up for myfico monthly 39.99 subscription. I think its pretty expensive but i can get all 3 every month.

Just need some advice whether i keep what i am using or move over to this sites plan.

thx

Re: Which site...

You can get all three for free, regularly updated FICO 8 scores with no additional products needed:
EX - Experian
EQ - myFICO - daily score updates, with monthly report updates
TU - CreditWise

For complete, detailed reports AnnualCreditReport.com can be updated weekly. You can pay for subscriptions at myFICO for additional versions of the scores as well (mortgage, auto, etc.)

Re: Which site...

It all depends on what "extras" you want.

Specifically, some offer identity theft insurance, sex offender registry monitoring, etc.

Those "extras" may be important to some and not others.

I did a quick analysis earlier this month trying to compare apples to apples among the 3 main CRAs, myFICO and CreditKarma --- here

Personally, I have Experian's CreditWorks Premium ($250/year), but once that expires, I'll be re-thinking if I really need it.

Re: Which site...

Interesting subject. Here's my opinion.

 "I pay $27.95 a month."  Sucker!

Ditto the Myfico sub.

I can't see paying for scores. I think they should pay me for putting up with this scoring abuse, im not going to reward them for it.

You can get free fico8 scores as follows,

Equifax, here at myfico,

Experian, experian.com,

Transunion, creditwise.com

Many banks provide various other free scores

If you're coming up on a mortgage app, ok, it makes sense to pay for scores for a few months.

Re: Which site...

If you're looking for free credit scores - as mentioned by @Vinjints and @FicoMike0 - you can see a list by clicking here

It all depends on what you want and if the "extras" matter to you

Re: Which site...

I will definitely use exp with exp. equ here and trans on cw.

Curious. Why not use trans on trans?

Thinking of buying a house sometime next year. What site or app do you recommend? I like the list you shared.

Thank you.

Re: Which site...

TransUnion is also free for the report, but does not provide a score.

Re: Which site...

I just logged in to transunion. I see my score and is updated daily. There is a 12 point difference when i compare my trans on cw and trans site. hmmmm

Re: Which site...

I think you can use TransUnion directly for a free TransUnion score -- please see pic below I just took from their app, but the problem is the score is VS3, not FICO.

For buying a home, Rocket Money will give you a free FICO Score 2 (used by some mortgage companies).

Hope this helps and best of luck with your home purchase!

Re: Which site...

The reason for the 12 point difference is because the scoring methods are different:

- TransUnion's website provides VantageScore 3.0

- CreditWise provides FICO Score 8
