Why a drop in score?

I had a 630 per EQ (through myfico).

I noticed there were two issues - one I knew was wrong and one that may have been. The one that was wrong - chrysler reporting a late payment three motnhs AFTER I traded in a car (and showing I made payments through the following year), another was an issue with Discover (We agred to a 9 month repayment, but they did not inform me - and I asked - if this would somehow negatively affect my credit. They posted it as a charge off.)

I have diligently made every payment on all obligations on time since January of this year. Yet today, I get an e-mail that my score dropped to 624) due to "an account listed on your report has changed".

Any thoughts as to why? The accounts noted are the two disputes I mentioned above.

Re: Why a drop in score?

Welcome to the forums!

It can be any number of things and a combination of things that caused the score drop. When you disputed EQ, your FICO score will stop scoring certain aspects of your TLs. For example, with Discover, the balance and the CL are removed from scoring during a dispute and that can impact your score in a big way. Also, when you dispute, it is common for a baddie to immediately update it with lates, change in status, etc. and that can cause a drop in score. I'd suggest waiting until the dispute clears completely and then pull EQ again to compare those changes.
