Why did my score just drop today by 26 points ? No new information other than paying off a newer collection and an inquiry fell off.
So sorry that happened to you Samy13 . . . did they delete the collection item or just update your credit file as paid? If if wasn't deleted, try to get the item deleted and your score should bounce back. Best wishes in getting this issue resolved!!!
Had the collection not been updated in a while? That's my guess: you paid the collection, which is good, but if it hadn't updated in a long time, you were hit with a "catch up" penalty since it hadn't been updating regularly and it all of a sudden did update, causing it to look "fresh" to the algorithm, costing you points.
@babygirl1256 it was just updated as paid. When I called Experian I was told this score decrease was reported by FICO. When I called FICO, they are not showing any drops.
