paid off a credit card that has a 5300 limit the payoff was just 935.00, yet my score dropped 16 points sent to me by myfico. It doesn't make any sense since when does decrease utilization cause a score to drop by that much. This logic is not making sense to me can someone help? Thanks in advance.

Did that result in all revolving credit accounts reporting a zero balance? If so there is your points loss.
No, just that one card so my score was 720, then today it shows 16 point drop with the payoff of that card. I still carry about 9% utilization across my total bankcard accounts.
Sounds like something else is going on there. Paying off 1 card if you have others with balances reported would not result in a score decrease. The others with balances aren't AU accounts by chance are they?
