Re: Why do I see score drop after removal of Judgement?

not enough information
we cannot see your whole credit report.
suttle changes from other credit obligations may be responsible for the negative 3 points....
history of a judgement is something that you should want to lose and NO, you didn't lose the history by paying a judgement you just paid a judgement nevertheless its still there won't go away until the time expires or you find a way to dispute it off...
Points going down after paying a judgement .......no relationship......

Re: Why did you pay a judgement?

Was the collection agency or company about to garnish your wages?
I live in AZ. My friend got a knock on the door and got served some papers ..didn't pay a cc from 2003..disputed that it was an revolving account......which 3 years is statute of limitations. AZ the 5 years applied to other accounts...anyhow lost got a judgement next step is garnished wages which hasn't happened yet.
I protest to my friend to try another tactic to avoid a predator like company from taking his money like that.....I say put it in a protected account such as a retirement fund.....

judgements can go on and on....don't know what az state law have for judgements and renewals..etc..
anyhow......to make it go away pay...
but in some ways i think learn how to play the game....and run as fast as you can..
any comments.

Re: Why did you pay a judgement?

I am not sure if you have any options with judgement. Once it is issued, judge sets the payment plan and you have to make the payments. If you miss a payment or if you dont keep up with the agreement, they can potentially send you to jail. Though that might not happen that often, I was told by some atty's debtor can be send to jail for it. Besides getting the judgment removed, I am not sure what options you have, you should discuss with your local atty who is faimilar with the rules. One option is you can plead with the judge and pay $10/month or some thing like that. Secon option is make a settlement with the creditor and make a lumpsum payment and then make sure they file a nonsuit and no objection to motion to vacate the judgment filed with the court. Judgement is a serious issue again if proper paper work is filed it can be removed. I had 3 judgements against me due to my bad health and I got them all 3 removed. Trust me it was not a very happy time in my life having to deal with the judgements. Good Luck.

Re: Why do I see score drop after removal of Judgement?

I think in my case the scores dropped because the day the judgement removed from CR also 2 new accounts and 1 one year old account showed up on my CR. Probably those 3 accounts diluted the age of accounts and resulted in the score drop, though there was some gain due to the judgement removal, I think hit from new accounts is higher than the gain from judgement removal. I am not apping any more and now new inq's and no new accounts. My score should come back up again in the next 6 months or so.

Re: Why do I see score drop after removal of Judgement?

This is my first time here and how interesting that the same thing has happened very recently to me.  I had filed bankruptcy over 10 years ago and it was removed from my CR in November.  I saw my CS drop by 50 points!!!!!  As you can imagine I was quite shocked!!!!  I thought for sure it would go up.  If it does have something to do with buckets - I guess I need a better understanding of that.  Any input would help!!!  Thanks.
