Why does Collections activity on your credit report increase your credit score?

Good Morning FICO'ees

I recently had disputed an item on one of the credit bureaus, it was deleted (YAY). However it has been reported on another of the 2 bureaus.  However I am wondering why does it improve my credit score? (Not that I am complaining) Just a little insight on how that works, drawn out in crayon so I understand would be great! Thanks.

I don't believe it is necessarily that a derogatory is increasing your score.  It's probably just a matter of other factors are increasing your score more than that derogatory is decreasing it.

How, what, why, who knows.
