On 3/7 my EQ score was 679. Today (3/20) it is 671. I have no additional inquiries showing. Here are the Accounts screens for both of them. I cannot for the life of me figure out why I would have had a drop. If anything, I would have expected an increase. Input welcome.
You may want to check your Nelnet accounts. They are still reporting as a negative. What changed with them?
They are still negatives, though the status field has changed from 120+ days late to paid or paying as agreed. These loans have been rehabilitated, and they were willing to get rid of some of the negative comments/statuses, but of course the late info is still there.
It's so hard to understand the scoring. The UMSTLN entry that you see (the 4th red flag down) was supposed to be deleted altogether from my report back on 3/7, but it's still showing on EQ. It's gone on TU and EX. Sometimes I think EQ is the slowest of the three to make changes. Anyway, I should (one would think) get a score bump when that delete finally hits EQ, but at this point, who knows???
The two accounts that shfted from "120-days late" to "paid as agreed" are easy to explain the lack of any positive impact.
Those are "current account status." Each month, when the creditor reports, the "current status" is updated, and the old one deleted. It is not a hidtorical marker of anything. It shows that in the prior monthly reporting, it was 120-days late, and was brought current in the current month. It stopped further hemmoraging, but did not add a postive.
The changes in % util were minimal, and had little effect.
I would suspect that there is some other hidden factor in another scoring category that changed, as none of the above were individually worse than the prior month.
I guess it's good to know that's what in the Status field doesn't really matter. Those 120 day late statuses were from 2005. I've hated seeing them staring me in the face every time I look at my CR.
I just can't think of anything else that could have caused a drop in score, and I've gone over every point I can think of. I'm happy that I've only had good things happening to my CRs, but it's frustrating not knowing what made it drop.
