I had a Care Credit card that I used for a medical procedure four years ago - It was completely paid off two years ago, and since then, I've always kept a 0 balance on it - Credit limit was $3000. It is strictly a medical credit card, although I think you can buy some things from Walgreens/CVS with it. Recently, I decided to ask for a credit line increase, and I actually got a pretty decent line increase (got it up to about $9000).
Since this isn't a "traditional" credit card, I'm wondering if it will still help my credit utilization, and boost my credit score.
It will help your utilization, and depending on what that is and how much it drops it (if it's a tier), it could help it.

I'm not familiar with Care Credit Card but your reference to medical and the possible limited use seems to indicate it's not a lender/credit account, it's something you contribute to.?. Iinitially thought you were referencing an FSA or HMSA card which matches that criteria and that would not count. But reading further a CLI should negate that thinking and sounds like it's a lender/creditor and yes, that should count toward your UTL. "traditional" CC or not.
But I learn something new everyday so I'm interested to hear more about the Care Credit card. Is any of your CL tax exempt?
