Will my score jump up????

I have an Exp score of 513, my other scores are just above 600. I just paid my cc off 100% this week(which were maxed out) and i have 4 medical collections on my record totaling about $450. How many points do you think my score will raise and how many more if I pay the collections off? Please help me.. Thanks

Re: Will my score jump up????

Hi, welcome to the forums! You won't gain any points for paying off the collections UNLESS you get them to agree in writing to remove all negative reporting from all the credit bureaus in exchange for your payment. Don't talk to the collectors, not a word, until you have done a bunch of reading here.

Score changes depend on how old baddies are, but paying off your cards will do wonders for you. Oddly enough, you will do better to have a small (less than 10%) balance on one card.

Are your scores FICO scores? If you got them anywhere else, they're pretty much worthless.

Please read Credit Scoring 101, and then look in the Frequently Requested Threads. Both of these are stickied up at the top of this board.

Re: Will my score jump up????

This is why you need to take a little break and read Credit Scoring 101. Smiley Wink

There are 3 FICO scores: your EX (Equifax) FICO, your TU (TransUnion) FICO, and your EX (Experian) FICO. Each of the three credit bureaus has commissioned its own particular scoring formula from FICO, which is one reason why the scores are different from one another.

Anyway, when you are starting out on your repair course, it's a good idea to buy all three FICO scores in order to know where you are. The FICO Credit Complete lets you do this, but everyone needs to realize that these are one-time score pulls. You can look at them online for a month, but you'll have to pay if you want to pull new scores. Be sure to Google fico discount code or fico coupon first to get between 10% and 25% off.

The scores that you get anywhere else, except directly from Equifax, are all FAKO's.

Google fico coupons, NOW I read that, after already spending about $75 or so. Thanks That should help save money in the future.

For all three scores, order Credit Complete or the Suze Orman package. Each of them is for a one-time pull of your scores.

With Credit Complete, you get all three scores at once, and they are viewable online for 30 days, and then poof, they're gone, so be sure to print them out. I'm a little shaky on the Suze details, but I think that you can delay printing one or more out, and they're viewable longer. Check up on the Products tab for more details.

And remember, for each, it's a one-time pull. Once you pull them, the next time you need them, you'll have to pay again. This seems to trip up a lot of people.

Ouch, blkbishop! I did that a few times when I started here, too. If for some reason you can't find anything online, call customer service here, and they will give you a code for 10%. It's something, anyway.

Also, every few months or so, FICO puts a really good discount code on its home page. I never see it, because I bookmarked to go straight to the log-in page, but the buzz hits the forums within hours, once someone notices it.

Re: Will my score jump up????

I ordered that Suze deal a few weeks ago. It's virtually the same price as the other one and you can order 3 reports - one from each, three from one, whatever you want and they're viewable the entire year.

Starting Scores:10/09/13 EX ???; EQ 661; TU 668
Current Scores: 11/23/13 EX 655; EQ 679; TU 705
Goal Scores:700+ for all

Yes, they are viewable for a year, but they don't update.
