bad bucket with longer account history AND 7.5 AAoA

please help. maybe i'm in sub bucket of a dirty bucket. trying to figure out if might be better in a shorter bucket and to bring down my AAoA from 7.5 years, history is 15 years and three months.

I definately need more open tl's - only have auto and one visa. and  an AU but big whoop that helps out with my utlization and only EX and TU picked that up...not EQ

all other accounts are closed. four of the eleven are bad. one will drop eoy, three will be bad.

would i be better off if i had a short AAoA?

i did NOT do a good job of rebuilding.

my tu fico is 657 (just dropped from 673 grrr) and EQ Fico 665

my fako's are like 607, 637 and 642, bad bad bad by that model. eq puts in my "fair credit" cateogry.

any insight would be appreciated. thanks in advance.

You could use another card but I wouldn't let your AAofA go under 6 years. How long before your last neggie is gone?

Re: bad bucket with longer account history AND 7.5 AAoA

small fry, thanks for responding....

i've got years to go before last neggie is gone...FP is a CO and i paid it; and so is HSBC and I paid as well probably without looking 7 years or 6 years.

thanks again.

i thought i might be better off having a shorter history. i don't know how to manipulate to get the best score.

Hi daisy...  your best cure right now is time.

With recent derogs, you need to give them time. All the "manipulation" in the world isn't going to cure them. Even if you bring your FICO scores up a bit, those recent derogs will still be staring any potential new creditor in the face.

Be the best you can be for many months. When you've gotten over a year with a spotless payment history, then app again for credit. Waiting is the toughest part of rebuilding credit. Set yourself up now for success in the future. Pointless inquiries are only going to hurt...not help.

Lynette, thanks for this information! I think you are right, but i want  one more card before then. Thinking about Target, they seem to be very easy

Time is my only friend. And for EQ Fico, i can easily change my utilization which is at 67%...nto sure when the big kick comes into place for utilization - heard 1-9% so by paying off debts, i can certainly increase my score based on that.

Hi Daisy,

What are your baddies? I seem to be stuck with nothing else to do myself.  I need another 2 TL's.

My last baddie falls off in 2/2010 so it's OLD but it still creates a barrier!!Smiley Mad

Re: bad bucket with longer account history AND 7.5 AAoA

hey happy, thanks for responding. here's the baddies...

first premier - paid CO - DOFD 10/07 - so fall off either 10/2014 OR 6/2015

HSBC - paid CO - DOFD 05/2007 - fall off either 5/2014 OR 11/2014

i have a Dell cit bank account with serious derogs, but paying them again and have been since April. they adjusted on 150 day late payment to pay as agreed....the dergos are 2 60's, 1 90, 1 120 and 1 150 days late. what a moron i was about this....

crtp - would be 7 to 7.5 years from DOFD that you never got back on track  -

depending on which report you look at, i have some goodies too...many reports contain accounts that state they are open, but they aint. i'm not fighting that -- keep it. why wouldn't i? all good history.

i can make EQ go up as my util is like 67% and i just paid 1/2 off to dell and will pay the other 1/2 off next pay. boom done. bring my util down to below 9 percent.

time can only really help me.
