Re: credit karma question

The information you received from CK is probably accurate. If you're uncertain check your report directly from the TU site. The FICO 3 Credit Report Monitoring service should alert you to a major change like a CA falling off of your report. It "seems" there are some issues with this new service, tho.

They're three different OEM services so they are all over the map in terms of features seemingly.

That said, SW in my experience has not notified me when derogatories (or anything else) is removed from my credit report; however, the score will change with the next balance update which happens frequently enough in my case that I'm not too worried about a ~week delay.

I wonder when that changed. Recently with the new 3-in-1 monitoring, or years ago?

I've had a SW subscription for more than a year now, so it's been a bit.  The alerts and what not are provided from Equifax as I understand it; certainly is from Experian based on recent user reports.

Hasn't given me any indiciation that inquiries or tax liens, or a collection fell off or were otherwise removed: that matches every other anecdotal report that I've seen personally.

Re: credit karma question

The Product Feedback Forum has a thread written by a myFICO Admin and he states the following will give alerts with the 3-bureau credit monitoring service:

  • Newly listed public records, such as bankruptcies, judgments, and tax liens
  • Newly listed collection accounts
  • Changes to public records and collection accounts (Equifax and Experian only)

So, SW won't give alerts for at least one of these, while the 3-bureau monitoring will give alerts for all three. Interesting.

OT: Am I the only one unable to post links and do a spellcheck? Ouch

Links should work, Lithium's already looking into the spell check issue.

ETA: works in a couple of different ways I saw, what do you get when you try to post a link?  Could have something busted with your emeritus flag.

Back on topic: they have made changes to Scorewatch lately, possible it got added and I didn't really notice as I haven't been paying attention Smiley Happy.  I doubt there's any difference between SW and the EQ portion of the 3-bureau monitoring.
