credit score different between models

I wonder how big of a difference is say ur mortgage scores between beareus. Now in an ideal world if all the information was 100 percent the same would there still be a difference in scores?

The same generation of FICO scores have different formulas at each CRA. They are custom built at each CRA using their database. Since historically databases have some different groups reporting the formula created is slightly different at each one. This means that your FICO 04 scores will differ even if the information in the CRAs is identical.

I have reestablished credit over the last couple years

Re: credit score different between models

I feel your pain OP...I have long ago stopped trying to figure out the differences among FICO scoring models.  EX, EQ, TU 98, 04, 08, Beacon, auto-enhanced, blah blah blah.  And all of that is assuming you have identical information across all three reports (which rarely is the case).  It's enough to drive you to drink! Smiley LOL.

Excellent Credit Universal Rules:  No baddies; pay bills on time, every time; keep a low UTL; have a decent mix of credit; and not too many INQ's and new TL.  Excellent credit is sure to follow!

BTW mortgage companies almost always use FICO 04 model (because that is what Fanny/Freddy use).  Good luck!
