discharge

I have been in debt management for a year and a half. 2 of the debts went to collections because they wouldn't go to the debt management program. I have since paid them off in full. On my credit reports is shows that they are discharged as bad debt but no where does it show I paid off the debts that I can tell. Can someone explain this to me? Thanks Smiley Happy

Re: discharge

You need to talk with your DMP company.

This is yet another reason why DMPs are generally a bad idea.

Re: discharge

I understand that many people think that debt management plans are not worthwhile.. however a person feels so intimidated and lost by creditors calling, when you are paying 29 percent interest, I have to say it was a good choice for me. The DMP i was on had nothing to do with the reporting of the 2 accounts that went to collections. I knew they weren't on the debt management plan in the first place. Thanks for the information, but you really should try not to make someone feel like crud about a choice they made that has been hugely beneficial to their own personal life. Maybe for some people, its not the answer, however it was for me. Judgement should remain silent in these posts.
