does anyone have child support on there credit report?

anyone have a solution for child support and how it affects your fico score. fico says it doesnt take it in consideration, but yet my score went from 636 to 583 due to it showing late payments on child support. And if you pay and are behind it will still report 120 days late. It hasnt even reported that i have paid when iwas working and it was being taken from check. Shows 120 days late that whole time. My amounts are incorrect as well as dates.i have disputed but no results. i at least think they should report it as being paind during those months that it was.And i am currently paying the one arrears case which is only $ 10.00 a month, but they will fail to report that. any suggestions would be greatly helpful to me at this moment.

Re: does anyone have child support on there credit report?

I to went through the same thing some years back. I went back to school and got behind on child support. It ruined my credit when the attorney General for my state reported late payments on my credit reports. I still have the account on my report but it shows the true amount owed and it shows that it is paid on time now. The way I fixed the problem was to contact them and agree on an amount to pay on top of your child support towards the arrears. When I did that and made the payments on time it fixed my CR.

You just have to work this out in your state with the AG. By the way I was 10,000 in the hole at one point but got caught up. It can be done you just have to tackle it head on!

On a side note I made my last CS payment on the 1st of this month. My son is 18 and will graduate this year and my daughter is 20.
