how long a credit history has to be for FICO score

Hello

I have 2 accounts, the credit reports shows the age of every of them is 4 months. How many months should it be for being able to generate FICO score

Regards

What would be your estimation for the FICO score after first 6m of history given that there  are no any other kinds of credits, only 2 credit cards, one of them is secured one. No late payments, always paid in full before due date. Utilization is around 20%-25%

At that utilization and assuming no late payment, your 6 month score should be between 660 and 720.

Re: how long a credit history has to be for FICO score

Once you hit six months, you will get a FICO score.  But you will be in a very low scoring bucket, with a thin credit file (only 2 TLs, with no insatllment loans) and a very short credit history.

The FICO simulator does not give you refined predictions that take into account which of the dozen buckets you are in, so with a thin file and short credit history, I would guestimate the your score will come in at well under 700.

You are building credit, and the key thing is to always pay on time, let your accounts age, and keep util low.

Your credit score only has any meaning when you are ready to apply for new credit.

Are you in the market for new credit now?
