myFICO scores different from FICO score pulled by Creditor?

I purchased the Score 3 Report and was wondering why is MyFico score different from the scores obtained by creditors when trying to obtain credit?  For example MyFico scores for Equifax is 603.  When pulled by Discover Card my Equifax was 655.  MyFico for Transunion is 656 and when pulled by CITI Bank was 708.  Scores were pulled at the same time.  I understand there is a variance in MyFico scores verses the scores when ordered directly from the credit bureaus but in the case of Discover Card for Equifax 655 they stated "Type of credit score FICO" as the source? This indicates to me that the score was pulled from FICO instead of Equifax directly?? Scores from MyFico's Equifax and Transunion were exactly 52 points different than the credit card companies report.

Re: myFICO scores different from FICO score pulled by Creditor?

There are 49 different FICO scores. Most likely your lenders pulled the "CC-enhanced" FICO scores. The ranges of those scores are different and if you haven't had any negatives in your CC history, they'll be higher than a traditional FICO score.

Myfico scores.....
EX... 805 (11-10-13)
EQ... 810 (12-02-13)
TU... 810 (12-02-13)

Re: myFICO scores different from FICO score pulled by Creditor?

So your saying that Creditors will usually pull the FICO score based strictly on the type of credit you are applying for?  For example CC companies will get a score for Credit Card history only, Lenders for Auto Loans will get a score based on your auto loan history, etc? So most likely they don't take into account the complete FICO score of your entire history when making their decision?

They do take into account your entire credit history and what is on your report.  Enhanced scores just weigh different types of accounts more heavily than a non enhanced score.

Re: myFICO scores different from FICO score pulled by Creditor?

The three FICO scores sold from MyFICO are the following.

EQ FICO 04 Classic

EX FICO 08 Classic

TU FICO 98 Classic

I don't know which score Discover pulls but CITI pulled EQ FICO 08 bankcard enhanced score on me recently. That's probably what they pulled on you as well. Check their letter to see what the score range is. If it says the range is from 250-900, then it is most likely the bankcard enhanced score.

See my signature #2 for more information on who pulls what. You can skip down to the table if you don't really want to read the whole thing.
