It's amazes me how it only took a couple of days to mess up over a million accounts, but it takes a week to fix it.  I'm still waiting on my points.  Aaargh!

Well, it takes just no time at all to screw up, but it does take a bit longer to make things right again, Smiley Happy

A member just posted on the other thread that he/she (don't remember the name) started with six loans with comments, and now 4 have shown up on TC, all with NO ocmments, plus two just aren't there. Maybe this member got lucky, but my guess is that the report got pulled in the middle of updating.

Re: Still waiting for an update

I just got the, "Congratulations! We did not find any changes in your personal information this week."-email from Myfico.  I thought it was ironic given that I'm waiting patiently (okay, not that patiently) for an alert giving me back my points...

Re: Still waiting for an update

As someone who happens to have a degree in computer engineering and designs hardware and software for a living, I always find such things amusing. What ever happened to database consistency and atomic transactions... It's all about ACID. I'm not even going to get into the fact that they are apparently sending 'tapes' of data. I hope that's just an old term that's being used. It always seems to be this way though. My company advertises the ability to upgrade the software on our systems without interruption, yet the other day I got a notice about a scheduled 6 HOUR outage of some servers for ... what else? A software upgrade. FWIW, I got my alert today around noon. And I had the original alert last Friday. Give it until at least Monday, as that's the original estimate they gave.

I will give it until Monday.  I just would love for it to be resolved already.

Re: Still waiting for an update

In regards to others who had their Sallie Mae accounts duplicated....just pulled my EQ report 10 minutes ago (free one from EQ site) and EQ has not only duplicated all me SM accounts, but every single account I have.  I posted a new message in this forum.  If anyone has any ideas or if this is happening to them today, I would like to know.  I do not want to call EQ just as perhaps this HUGE error occurred because I was pulling my report in the middle of them updating the SM thing or something and I do not want them to put disputes on every single last one of my accounts cause a even bigger mess since I am applying for a mortgage next month and do not want any disputes.  Needless to say, all of this has given me a huge headache.  Haven't gotten my points back from SM thing yet.   Just went back and looked at it some more...actually no SM accounts listed except for one (I have three SM accts).  But everything is duplicated.  I can only imagine what my score is going to look like now.

Re: Still waiting for an update

This strange. My Equifax score was 630 on Monday 5/12, with Sallie Mae showing "Arrangement made with credit grantor to make partial payments". On Friday 5/16, the score returned back to 720, but there's NO Sallie Mae account showing on Equifax at all. I've seen some of my accounts shown on one credit bureau and not another, but it seems strange that the Sallie Mae account was removed and not just updated. Maybe I should just be happy that my score was restored.

UPDATE: Got a scorewatch notice that my score dropped 8 points. Looks like the only difference is that my Sallie Mae loan got added back. Perhaps, the updating process was done in a two parts, delete the negative, then replace with the revised information? I wonder if the score will settle down after a few days and float up a couple of points.

Re: Still waiting for an update

Finally I am at peace.  My credit score is back to what is was before the mess happen.  I didn't recieved an alert so I decided to buy Score Power and saw my credit file & score.  I have no duplicates at all and the message is removed. If anyone out there who are waiting for the alert, I would just go ahead and buy the report so you can have a peace of mind.

Mine still has not been fixed. Called Sallie Mae and they said it will be corrected by the 1st when the info is updated again.
