predicting deletion impact on EXP

I have 3 recent collection items (all paid and closed, but still reported) on my report. I managed this week to get one of them to delete (joy!). They reported right away, and I asked my mortgage lender to run a Rapid Rescore for me.

So far I've only seen a change in my TU score - a significant 12 point increase. But Equifax has not increased yet, and I can't see stupid Exp of course.

Do I need to wait longer to see results with EQ? Any ideas on how much it might improve EXP? How long should we wait to check EXP?

other than to verify the deletion on EX, how else could you see an "improvement" on EX since we can no longer buy our EX scores?

Hi, welcome to the forums.

You might not see a whole lot of change in your other two scores, although congrats on the EQ rise.

The problem is that as long as one collection is on your reports, you're stuck in a scoring category for those with serious delinquencies --CO, CA, 120-day-lates, 90-day-lates. Your big jump will come when the last one is gone. That being said, if this collection was the newest/ youngest, it did benefit you. FICO scoring looks at how recent, how frequent, and how severe your negatives are. That's why the advice is to work on everything, but especially on the most recent negatives.

Usually EX updates its reports within 24 hours of hearing from a creditor. So there's a pretty decent chance that it's off your EX report already, since it's off EQ. But deletions don't always get delivered smoothly.

Re: predicting deletion impact on EXP

I still have the two remaining CA's, however they do show as paid and closed. But they're very recent. I'm working on getting those deleted as well. I guess if I check Exp report and see the item has been deleted, it's worth having my mortgage guy run a rescore. Will post back here when I get the results.
