question about old lates and scoring

I have a couple of 60 days past due from 11/2008-01/2009.  I am wondering if after 2 years if I will notice a more drastic change in my credit score as it will hit the 2 yr mark...or does it just gradually weaken over time?  I thought I read somewhere after 2 yrs you'll really notice an increase ( obviously if all else is good).  Thanks!

Re: question about old lates and scoring

Age helps in a way, because 60's start counting as 30's. That should take you out of the negative scoring bucket. You're still in a negative bucket when the 60's are recent.

I had scores in the 740's when I still had a 60 and 90, because my util was very low. It was about 5 years old, but I still gained around 30 points when they were GW'd off, because that took me out of the serious derogatory scoring bucket. All I had left were a scattering of older 30's. (All this from my credit coma days.)

Eh, as long as we survived.

I went back and edited again, so you might want to check the latest version. Sorry for the dithering! Smiley Very Happy

Re: question about old lates and scoring

What do you mean by 60's becomming 30's?  If you look at my report it was 30, 60, 60, 60 all in four months...then back to good.  Last 60 was 01/09...

Thanks again

What HTSU means is that a 60 day late is often (not always) scored as a 30 day late after several years but it's still shown on your reports as a 60.

How's that for highjacking your answer HTSU???  Smiley Happy

Re: question about old lates and scoring

Ok, thanks guys.  So I guess I have a few more years to go to get to "several".  Hopefully I will see a gradual increase over the course of the next few months..
