"Months Reviewed" on Credit Score

For every account in my credit report, there is a "Months Reviewed" field which is different from the total length of the account. For example, I had a student loan for a period of 14 months which I then consolidated (this pays off the original loan and replaces it with a new one). However, though I had it for 14 months, it only shows 2 under Months Reviewed. I believe that this short duration of months reviewed is significantly bringing down my credit score because it is used to calculate the "Average Account Age." Is there anything I can do about this? I am not sure why it only shows 2 instead of 14...

Usually, when you "consolidate" loans by replacing them with a new one, the old loans are then paid off and closed, and a new loan with a new credit history begins to score.  That is usually quite different than renogiating the terms of an existing loan.
