rasiing my score

My score is currently around 600 on all three

I have been paying off collection... How much will my score rasie after each collection is deleted?

I have been paying all my CC(4) down as well all have limits of 400 and I owe 150 to 175.

I have 1 personal loan for 2k with 1700 unpaid

Another personal loan for 8k

My mortage is 135k

bike loan 16k

Car loan 32k

Any advice to raise my score

Paid off collections are not deleted, they report for 7 years from the DOFD.  The score does not change just because they are paid off, although it is better on manual review

Low utilization on CCs is very good - below 10% is best

Re: rasiing my score

Cubs, as MV stated, paid collections do not delete on their own (not for 7-7.5 years from DOFD anyway). Try to get them to do a PFD. Do a search on these threads for pay for delete or PFD and find a nice letter that suits your needs and fire one of those off to the CA.

How old is this collection? What is your state's SOL?

Re: rasiing my score

The collection companys agreed to remove the debit from my report. I sent letters to the credit burues showing the contracts we agreed on.

The collection are roughly 1 year old

Outstanding, you got it in writing. There will be minimal scoring increases, IMO, as each of the CAs fall off, until the last one does, then you should see a decent score hop. There are accounts of 50 point increases on avg for the last CA falling off (right MV?).

Re: rasiing my score

HOLD UP! WAIT A MINUTE.....

You mean to tell me that I could gain avg of 50 points by having old paid off ca deleted?!

I had no idea it would be that much!

One is from NCO (no luck with GW yet) although Equifax has recently deleted.  Date opened is 2002 but paid last June in order to get my disaster loan.

I have an old medical turned over to central states that shows only on EX and EQ as TU recently deleted.  Date opened is 2005 and paid in 2006.

Hmm...Christmas is too far away but hey...Mother's Day is right around the corner!Smiley Wink

MV, would you kindly direct me to the link(s) of your postings about this.  I am feeling newly encouraged as well as another round of GW letters in the works!

Thanks!!

Re: rasiing my score

Wow!  Thanks for such a speedy reply!

I sure wished I had known about PFD's prior to paying them.

Boy those threads sure lit a new fire under my (cough cough) arse!

Inspiring indeed!

Thanks again!
