Congrats on the score increase!
Too bad about the tickets.![]()
I also had gw misconstrued as disputes for awhile, all cleared up now.
It is amazing how much the score jumps when you pay down the balances of CC. I am working on doing the same with mine. EQ 656 09/15/08. I desperately want to be in the 700 club by 02/01/09 for a refi on my home. My CU pulls EQ thank goodness, because my TU & EX are always much lower.
Myfico is great, and it has been so educational for me. (I especially like the offers of assistance without judgement of my previous financial decisions. We have all been young and stupid at sometime in our lives.)
I have learned from these boards, after tackling the incorrect information on the CR, paying down Utilization seems to be the best way to increase overall scores.

This has been a rocky month. First my EQ dropped 9 points because of JCP confusing my GW letters as being disputes...but now it has jumped 47 points within the last 2 weeks. It was 600 in Oct then went down to 591 then up to 638! There are no credit alerts so I'm assuming I got the points since I paid my total cc balance down to under 50% util and 2 of the cc's down to under 9%. Bad thing is I had to use alot of that newly available credit on 2 parking tickets and a tow I got last week on vacation..gRrr. We'll see what that has in store for my score next month...but for now I'm happy! I'm so glad I found myFICOMessage Edited by oohhjamila on 11-23-2008 03:59 PMEverytime your score changes on EQ, make sure you set your alert score setting to your current score. This will keep the alerts coming!
