Re: will all three delete?

Hi Stacy and welcome to the forum. Please read credit scoring 101 and many of the other stickied threads on the top of each board. There is much to learn, so start reading. Smiley Wink

To answer your question, no the CRAs don't share information with one another, they are competitors. If you want the baddie deleted from all three, you need to dispute with the other two as well.

BTW, I trust that this disputed item is a reporting error of some sort.

Two separate questions  with two separate answers.....
No, one CRA does not update the records of another.  They are separate businesses, and each retain theiir own data.  You need to now dispute with EQ and TU to address their credit files.
As for your question about whether the scores you get directtly from ex., eq, tu are fako or true scores, the answer is a bit more complicated.
Their is no such thing as a "true" score or a "fake" score.
The answer is that there are many scores on the market generated by numerous vendors.  I detest the branding of some scores as "FAKO," for that does not mean that they are fake.  Alll it means is that the reported score was not generated under a scoring algorithm purchased from FairIsaac (FICO).  The "FAKO" terminology is only correct to the extent that most lendors rely upon FICO scores, rather than generated by others, so the general consensus it to look first and formeost at only your FICO score, and ignore the others, just as most lendors do.
While each scorer must look at the EQ, EX, or TU credit reports as the source of their scoring data, that is where the comparison ends.
There is no such thing, per se, as an EQ, EX or TU score.  Each of the scores from the CRAs can be generated from different algorithms.  If you get a TU score, for example,  from myFICO, what that means is that it was generated from the FairIsaac scoring algorithm, which is by far the industry standard used by prospective lendors.  However, the three CRAs have combined to produce a competing score, called Vantage, that is not base at all upon FICO scoring, and is their own scoring algorithm. So you can also get, following the same example, a "TU score" that was not generated from the FICO algorithm, but rather from some other scoring algorithm.
So, the simple answer is that scores coming from a CRA may be FICO, or they may not.  It depends on who is vending them.  If a "true FICO" is what yuu want. then the only assured source is through myFICO.
