will this change my score for the better?

I disputed a item that had been sent to collections, paid in full, thanks to being a co-signer.  and this was the result

from Equifax:

The following changes were reported for your verizon wireless account,  account status changed from bad debt; placed for collection; skip to at least 120 days or more than for payments past due

It should drop your FICO score some.

If I read your post right, you went from a CO with no lates to a CO with a 120 day late.

Look in your FICO report. It should still say "charge-off" in there somewhere, likely within the comments. Check also the "worst delinquency" box. Your DOLA also changed to the date the dispute was resolved. That change would have a negative impact on your score.

You'd also want to check to see the month/year the late was placed.
